What is FBLA?

Future Business Leaders of America, also called FBLA, is a business organization at Longmont High that focuses on preparing its members for the work world and beyond. Similar to Student Council, FBLA  has its own group of leaders which, according to Longmont High FBLA adviser Donna Sorensen, “The commitment of the officer team makes all the difference in the group.” This year, the leadership team is made up of students Rebecca Stamp, Jessie Mitchell, Andy Chiang, Drolma Geyer, Jake Tokle, and Yolanda Romero.

As should be expected from an extra-curricular school organization, FBLA participates in a wide variety of activities, such as Professional Development which includes attending conferences, competing in areas of business, and meeting students from all over the state and social projects, as well as fund raising and service projects. FBLA also has a plethora of more specific activities planned, the most significant of which are the District, State, and National conferences. The State conference is taking place this Spring in Vail, Colorado and the National conference is taking place in San Antonio, Texas. The group is planning a day of service for October 22nd, 2011 for Make a Difference Day.
